§ 308. No compensation for appointment; penalty

A sheriff shall not ask of or receive from his deputies any pay, compensation or reward by way of deputation fee, or otherwise, for such appointments. A sheriff who violates a provision of this section shall be fined not more than $200.00 nor less than $50.00.
