§ 7221. Allowances in sentences in lieu of fines

Any prisoner serving an alternative sentence of confinement in any penal institution which is in lieu of the payment of fine shall be released at the expiration of as many days as there are dollars, or fractional part thereof, in such fine and if such prisoner shall pay such fine during the time of his or her commitment he or she shall be given credit for time served at the rate of one dollar for each full day, or fractional part thereof, so served. All statutes inconsistent herewith are hereby amended to conform with the foregoing provisions. (Amended 1969, No. 131, { 8, eff. April 23, 1969.)
