[Activation of National Guard to Assist in Flood Recovery Operations in
Windham County]
Pursuant to the authority vested in me as Governor of Vermont and Commander-in-Chief, Vermont National Guard, and having determined the necessity of public service requires it, I hereby order and direct the Adjutant General of Vermont to order into service a force of National Guardsmen for the purpose of assisting in flood recovery operations in Windham County.
The need for National Guard assistance is a direct result of severe thunderstorms and flooding, occurring June 13, 1996, which caused extensive destruction in the town of Grafton and surrounding areas.
Pay for personnel performing the State service shall be in accordance with the provisions of VSA 603 and 881.
