CHAPTER 17. JOINT ENERGY COMMITTEE

§ 601. Creation of committee

(a) There is created a joint energy committee whose membership shall be appointed each biennial session of the general assembly. The committee shall consist of four representatives, at least one from each major party, appointed by the speaker of the house, and four members of the senate, at least one from each major party, appointed by the committee on committees.

(b) The committee shall elect a chair, vice-chair and clerk and shall adopt rules of procedure. The chair shall rotate biennially between the house and the senate members. The committee may meet during a session of the general assembly at the call of the chair or a majority of the members of the committee. The committee may meet during adjournment subject to approval of the speaker of the house and the president pro tempore of the senate. A majority of the membership shall constitute a quorum.
