§ 5518. Petition, contents
The petition shall be verified and may be on information and belief. It shall set forth plainly:
(1) The facts which bring the child within the jurisdiction of the court, together with a statement that it is in the best interests of the child and the public that the proceedings be brought;
(2) The name, age, and residence addresses, if known to petitioner, of the custodial and noncustodial parents, the guardian or custodian of the child if other than parent, or, if there is no parent, guardian or custodian residing within the state, or if his or her residence address is unknown, of any known adult relative or person having the child under his or her supervision, or, if there be none, the known adult relative or such person residing nearest to the location of the court;
(3) Whether the child has been taken into custody under section 5510 of this title and, if so, the place of his detention and the time the child was taken into custody. (1967, No. 304 (Adj. Sess.), § 16; amended 2001, No. 142 (Adj. Sess.), § 118e.)
