2005 Vermont Code - § 5510. — Taking into custody

§ 5510. Taking into custody

A child may be taken into custody;

(1) Pursuant to the laws of arrest of this state;

(2) Pursuant to an order of the juvenile court under the provisions of this chapter;

(3) By a law enforcement officer when the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the child is in immediate danger from his or her surroundings, and that removal is necessary for the child's protection;

(4) By a law enforcement officer when the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the child has run away from his or her parents, foster parents, guardian, legal custodian, parent lawfully exercising parent-child contact, or other person having legal or physical responsibility for the child.
