2005 Vermont Code - § 502. — Definitions
§ 502. Definitions
As used in this chapter:
(1) "Americans with Disabilities Act" means the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and rules and regulations made thereunder, as amended at any time.
(2) "Commissioner" means the commissioner of disabilities, aging, and independent living.
(3) "Department" means the department of disabilities, aging, and independent living.
(4) "Older Americans Act" means the federal Older Americans Act of 1965 and rules and regulations adopted thereunder, as amended at any time.
(5) "Older persons" mean individuals who have attained the age of 60 years.
(6) "Persons with disabilities" mean individual Vermonters who have functional limitations by virtue of physical or psychological conditions.
(7) "Rehabilitation Act" means the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and rules and regulations adopted thereunder, as amended at any time.
(8) "Social Security Act" means the federal Social Security Act and rules and regulations adopted thereunder, as amended at any time. (Added 1989, No. 219 (Adj. Sess.), § 3; amended 2005, No. 174 (Adj. Sess.), § 79.)
