2005 Vermont Code - § 561. — Statement of fees

§ 561. Statement of fees

Quarterly, each judge of probate shall return to the commissioner of finance and management an itemized statement, verified by his oath and that of his register, of all fees which have been paid to the state for business transacted in his office during the quarter next preceding. If a judge of probate neglects for one month to render such quarterly account, he shall forfeit $500.00, to be recovered in a civil action on this statute, in the name of the state. The commissioner of finance and management shall enforce the provisions of this section. (Amended 1959, No. 328 (Adj. Sess.), §§ 8, 21(f); 1977, No. 235 (Adj. Sess.), § 8; 1983, No. 195 (Adj.
