§ 1725. Application; examination
A licensed optometrist wishing to use the diagnostic pharmaceutical agents permitted by this subchapter shall satisfactorily complete courses in general and ocular pharmacology given by an institution approved by the commissioner of health. The applicant shall pay a fee set by the director of the office of professional regulation sufficient to offset the expenses necessarily made by the board, but not to exceed $40.00 and pass a standard examination, administered by the board. The examination shall be designed to comprehensively test competency in the use of diagnostic pharmaceutical agents the use of which is permitted by this subchapter. If the applicant passes the examination, he or she shall receive a biennial endorsement on the regular license. (Added 1983, No. 184 (Adj. Sess.); amended 1989, No. 250 (Adj. Sess.), § 4(d).)
