§ 611. Possession of license certificate

Every licensee shall have his operator's license certificate in his immediate possession at all times when operating a motor vehicle. However, no person charged with violating this section or section 610 of this title shall be convicted if he produces in court or to the arresting officer an operator's license certificate theretofore issued to him and valid at the time of his arrest or within fourteen days following its expiration. (Amended 1967, No. 356 (Adj. Sess.), § 1, eff. March 27, 1968.)
