2005 Vermont Code - § 466. — Assignment of widow\'s interest

§ 466. Assignment of widow's interest

When a widow is entitled to a third in value of the real estate of her husband or has made her election to take the same, she, or the executor, administrator or heir, or other person who is entitled to the estate, may make application to the probate court to have the same assigned and set out to her. The court shall thereupon order such third set out to her which shall be set out by metes and bounds, where it can be done without injury to the estate. (Amended 1985, No. 144 (Adj. Sess.), § 30.)
