§ 3104. Tampering with safety or mechanical equipment
A person who wilfully and maliciously tampers with any safety appurtenance or safety device of a locomotive, passenger train car, freight train car, caboose or other train car, or any other on-track rail equipment, including but not limited to wheels, axles, journal bearings, air or hand brake equipment, couplers or uncoupling devices used or operated upon a railroad shall be imprisoned not more than two years or fined not more than $500.00, or both.
