§ 4097. Legislative policy and purpose

The purpose of this subchapter is to encourage appropriate treatment of the disease of alcoholism by providing for minimum levels of benefits under health insurance policies and contracts; and to encourage insurers and providers to provide these benefits in ways that promote the containment of health costs. (Added 1981, No. 176 (Adj. Sess.); amended 1985, No. 75, § 1, eff. March 1, 1986.)
