2005 Vermont Code - § 2723a. — Distributors\' licenses

§ 2723a. Distributors' licenses

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to distribute fluid dairy products as a distributor, as defined in this chapter, without a license issued by the commissioner. The commissioner shall license all distributors annually. Application for the license shall be made to the commissioner upon a form furnished by the commissioner. The application shall be accompanied by an annual license fee of $15.00 for one year or any part thereof. The license period shall be from January 1 to December 31.

(b) No person shall be granted a distributor's license under this section unless the distributor first agrees to withhold the state tax on producers whose milk has been received by the distributor imposed under chapter 161 of this title.

(c) Any distributor who carries on a business and fails to take out a license shall be subject to penalty under section 2678 of this title. (Added 2003, No. 70 (Adj. Sess.), § 66, eff. March 1, 2004.)
