§ 9. House vacancy
If a vacancy occurs in the office of representative to the general assembly, the governor shall appoint some person from the district wherein the vacancy occurs to fill the unexpired term, and shall transmit to the person so appointed a certificate of his appointment, and cause certified copies thereof to be sent to the secretary of state and to the clerk of the district wherein the vacancy occurs.
