15A-3-501. General provisions.
The following are adopted as an amendment to the IFGC to be applicable statewide:
  • (1) In IFGC, Section 404.9, a new Section 404.9.1, is added as follows: "404.9.1 Meter protection. Fuel gas services shall be in an approved location and/or provided with structures designed to protect the fuel gas meter and surrounding piping from physical damage, including falling, moving, or migrating ice and snow. If an added structure is used, it must still provide access for service and comply with the IBC or the IRC."
  • (2) IFGC, Section 409.5.3, is deleted.
  • (3) In IFGC, Section 631.2, the following sentence is inserted before the first sentence: " In accordance with Title 34A, Chapter 7, Safety, and requirements made by rule by the Labor Commission, boilers and pressure vessels in Utah are regulated by the Utah Labor Commission, Division of Boiler, Elevator and Coal Mine Safety, except those located in private residences or in apartment houses of less than five family units. Boilers shall be installed in accordance with their listing and labeling, with minimum clearances as prescribed by the manufacturer's installation instructions and the state boiler code, whichever is greater."
