2006 Utah Code - 76-10-901 — "Junk dealer" and "scrap metal processor" defined.
76-10-901. "Junk dealer" and "scrap metal processor" defined.For the purpose of this part:
(1) "Junk dealer" means all persons, firms, or corporations engaged in the business of purchasing or selling secondhand, or castoff material of any kind, such as old iron, copper, brass, lead, zinc, tin, steel, aluminum, and other metals, metallic cables, wires, ropes, cordage, bottles, bagging, rags, rubber, paper, and other like materials.
(2) "Scrap metal processor" means any person who, from a fixed location, utilizes machinery and equipment for processing and manufacturing iron, steel, or nonferrous scrap into prepared grades, and whose principal product is scrap iron, scrap steel, or nonferrous metallic scrap, not including precious metals, for sale for remelting purposes.
