     76-3-407.   Repeat and habitual sex offenders -- Additional prison term for prior felony convictions.
     (1) If the new offense is the commission of or the attempt to commit a first or second degree felony under Title 76, Chapter 5, Part 4, Sexual Offenses, the court shall impose, in addition to and consecutive to any other prison term, an additional five-year term for each prior conviction for a felony sexual offense in Utah or an offense in any other state or federal jurisdiction which constitutes or would constitute a crime or an attempted crime which, if committed in Utah, would be punishable under Title 76, Chapter 5, Part 4, Sexual Offenses, if the trier of fact finds the prior felony conviction was entered before the commission of the new offense.
     (2) This section supercedes any other provision of law except Section 76-3-408.
