17A-3-1302. Declaration of legislative intent.Recognizing that the historical heritage of this state is among its most valued and important assets, it is the intent of the Legislature that the counties, cities and towns of this state shall have the power to preserve, protect and enhance historic and prehistoric areas and sites lying within their respective jurisdictions as provided in this part.
