     17A-2-713.   Titles vested -- Tax exemptions -- Sales -- Conveyances to United States.
     The title to all property acquired under this part shall immediately and by operation of law, vest in such irrigation district, in its corporate name, and is dedicated and set apart for the uses and purposes set forth in this part, and shall be exempt from all taxation. The board may use and acquire, manage, occupy, and possess this property as provided in this section, and may sell property no longer necessary for the use of the district. When any district contemplated in this part finds it necessary to procure and acquire a supply of water from outside the boundaries of this state, then it is lawful for that district to contract and pay for that water in the same manner as other property acquired by the district is purchased and paid for. Any property acquired by the district may be conveyed to the United States in so far as it is needed for the construction, operation, and maintenance of works by the United States for the benefit of the district under any contract that may be entered into with the United States pursuant to this part. This section, as to taxation, does not apply to that portion of any property of the district not used for irrigation or hydroelectric power generation purposes.
