2006 Utah Code - 17A-1-101 — Definitions.

     17A-1-101.   Definitions.
     As used in this chapter:
     (1) "Appointing authority" means the person or governing body of a county or municipality that is authorized by law to make appointments to a board.
     (2) "Board" means a board of directors, board of trustees, administrative control board, or any other group, however designated, that makes policy for special districts.
     (3) "Dependent special district" means a special district authorized by Title 17A, Chapter 3.
     (4) "Independent special district" means a special district authorized by Chapter 2.
     (5) "Qualified elector" means a person who:
     (a) is a United States citizen;
     (b) will be 18 years old by the date of the election; and
     (c) is a resident of the special district in which the election is held.
     (6) "Special district" means any one of the special taxing districts authorized by this title.
