     16-10a-503.   Resignation of registered agent.
     (1) A registered agent of a corporation may resign the agency appointment by delivering to the division for filing a statement of resignation. The statement of resignation must be signed by the resigning registered agent and must be accompanied by two exact or conformed copies thereof. The statement of resignation may include a statement that the registered office is also discontinued. The statement of resignation shall include a declaration that notice of the resignation has been given to the corporation at the principal office shown on the most recent annual report of the corporation on file with the division.
     (2) After filing the statement of resignation the division shall mail one copy to the registered office of the corporation and the other copy to the corporation at the principal office.
     (3) The agency appointment is terminated, and the registered office discontinued if so provided, on the 31st day after the date on which the statement was filed.
