§6652. Compensation of employees of Chaplain of Senate |
The Chaplain of the Senate may appoint and fix the compensation of such employees as he deems appropriate, except that the amount which may be paid for any fiscal year as gross compensation for personnel in such Office for any fiscal year shall not exceed $147,000. |

Section was formerly classified to section 61d–1 of this title prior to editorial reclassification and renumbering as this section. AMENDMENTS1989—Pub. L. 101–163 substituted "such employees as he deems appropriate, except that the amount which may be paid for any fiscal year as gross compensation for personnel in such Office for any fiscal year shall not exceed $147,000" for "a secretary". 1987—Pub. L. 100–202 amended section generally. Prior to amendment, section read as follows: "The Chaplain may appoint and fix the compensation of a secretary at not to exceed $8,541 per annum."
