§2459f. Appropriation accounts; transfers (a) Designation of accounts for appropriations
Appropriations for the Administration for fiscal year 2002 and thereafter shall be made in three accounts, “Human space flight”, “Science, aeronautics and technology”, and an account for amounts appropriated for the necessary expenses of the Office of Inspector General. Appropriations shall remain available for 2 fiscal years. Each account shall include the planned full costs of the Administration's related activities.
(b) Transfers among accountsTo ensure the safe, timely, and successful accomplishment of Administration missions, the Administration may transfer amounts for Federal salaries and benefits; training, travel and awards; facility and related costs; information technology services; publishing services; science, engineering, fabricating and testing services; and other administrative services among accounts, as necessary.
(c) Transfer of Missions support account balancesThe Administrator, in consultation with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, shall determine what balances from the “Mission support” account are to be transferred to the “Human space flight” and “Science, aeronautics and technology” accounts. Such balances shall be transferred and merged with the “Human space flight” and “Science, aeronautics and technology” accounts, and remain available for the period of which originally appropriated.
