§5708. Authorization of appropriations (a) Authorization
There are authorized to be appropriated to the Library of Congress such sums as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter, not to exceed 0,000 for each of the fiscal years 2000 through 2003, to be made available to the Foundation to match private contributions (whether in currency, services, or property) made to the Foundation by private persons and State and local governments.
(b) Administrative expensesNo Federal funds authorized under this section may be used by the Foundation for administrative expenses of the Foundation, including for salaries, travel, and transportation expenses, and other overhead expenses.
