§1508. Authorization of appropriations

For the purposes of carrying out this subtitle, there are authorized to be appropriated ,500,000 for fiscal year 1989 and such sums as may be necessary for each of the 8 succeeding fiscal years, to remain available until expended.

Amendments

1994—Pub. L. 103–322 substituted “8 succeeding fiscal years” for “4 succeeding fiscal years”.

Appropriations

Provisions appropriating funds for fiscal year 1994 for necessary expenses of Office of National Drug Control Policy and requiring the Office to hire and maintain not less than 40 full-time equivalent positions were contained in the Executive Office Appropriations Act, 1994, Pub. L. 103–123, title III, Oct. 28, 1993, 107 Stat. 1235, 1237.
