- The Tennessee accelerating literacy and learning corps (TALLC) is established to develop and support a statewide network of high-quality tutors to assist LEAs, public charter schools, community partners, and parents in accelerating student learning and remediating student learning loss. The department shall administer the TALLC by developing:
- A statewide initiative to recruit high-quality tutors to become certified TALLC members;
- A program to provide initial training, certification, and ongoing professional development for TALLC members. The initial training and ongoing professional development for TALLC members developed by the department pursuant to this subdivision (a)(2) must include online training options; and
- Content that may be used by TALLC members when providing tutoring services to students.
- Subject to available funding, the department may provide TALLC grants to LEAs and public charter schools to increase the number of TALLC members that are available in a community to provide high-quality tutoring services to students.
