- The commissioner of safety is authorized to designate in writing employees of the department of safety, who shall be authorized to take acknowledgements and administer oaths and perform other notarial acts with respect to applications, reports and any and all other documents required by law or departmental regulation to be filed with the department.
- Any employee so designated is authorized to perform the services and functions of a notary public with respect to such matters exclusively under the supervision and administration of the department, but no further nor otherwise.
- A written list of the employees so designated shall be posted in the office of the commissioner and shall be open to inspection at all business hours.
- Any false statement made on oath or affirmation before any such person shall subject the offender to punishment for perjury under the penalties now provided by law.
