- Each LEA may issue high school diplomas to veterans who failed to receive diplomas due to an interruption of their education by service in World War I, World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War.
- An LEA shall not require that the veteran be a current resident of this state at the time of the veteran's request for issuance of a high school diploma.

- Each LEA may issue a high school diploma authorized by subsection (a) to an eligible deceased veteran, upon the request of the veteran's surviving spouse, if any, or other immediate family members.
- An LEA shall not require that a deceased veteran's spouse or immediate family be current residents of this state at the time of the spouse's or immediate family's request for issuance of the deceased veteran's high school diploma.
