§ 4-3-734. Minimum Energy Conservation Standards — New Residential Building Construction

- Notwithstanding title 13, chapter 19 to the contrary, the minimum energy conservation standards for any new residential building construction on or after January 1, 2009, shall be the 2003 International Energy Conservation Code published by the International Code Council. Builders of new residential and commercial construction are encouraged to voluntarily utilize the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code energy conservation standards for new residential or commercial construction.
- The department is requested to provide information to the public concerning the 2003 and 2006 International Energy Conservation Codes on its web site.
- This section shall not be construed as mandating any higher level of enforcement or inspection by local governments than that in place prior to January 1, 2009.
