§ 55-50-332. Lost permits or licenses -- Duplicates or substitutes.

  • (a) In the event that a learner permit, intermediate driver license or driver license issued under this chapter is lost or destroyed, the person to whom the permit or license was issued may, upon payment of the required fee, obtain a duplicate or substitute thereof, upon furnishing proof satisfactory to the department that the permit or license has been lost or destroyed, and further provide proof satisfactory to the department that the applicant is indeed the person to whom the permit or license was issued.
  • (b) Duplicate licenses obtained during the normal eight-year cycle shall expire eight (8) years from the date of issuance, excluding Class P licenses, which shall expire one (1) year from the date of issuance.
  • (c) Duplicate temporary licenses obtained in place of temporary licenses, issued pursuant to § 55-50-331(g), shall be valid during the period of time specified in § 55-50-331(g).
