§ 57-3-212 - Transfer of permits restricted.

TN Code § 57-3-212 (2014) What's This?

(a) The holder of a license may not sell, assign or transfer such license to any other person, and such license shall be good and valid only for the twelve (12) months after the same was issued.

(b) Licensees who are serving in the military forces of the United States in time of war may appoint an agent to operate under the license of the licensee during the absence of the licensee. In such instances, the license shall continue to be carried and renewed in the name of the owner. The agent of the licensee shall conform to all the requirements of a licensee under this chapter, including the furnishing of a certificate as provided under ยง 57-3-208. No person who is ineligible to obtain a license under this chapter shall be eligible to serve as the agent of a licensee under this section.

(c) Except as expressly authorized, there shall be no transfer of any permit from the holder thereof to another, nor, except in special instances to be fixed by rule or regulation of the commission, any transfer thereof from one (1) location to another.
