6-55-601 - Municipal tax assessor.

6-55-601. Municipal tax assessor.

The governing body of any municipality is authorized to:

     (1)  Elect a tax assessor, who shall be required to make and subscribe to an oath as provided by the general laws of the state of Tennessee for county tax assessors;

     (2)  Prescribe the bond that the tax assessor shall give; and

     (3)  Fix the tax assessor's compensation and the compensation of any and all deputies or employees.
