49-5-5304. Term of employment and duties of career level I principals Continuing validity of other certificates.
(a) A career level I principal shall work at least a ten-month contract.
(b) A career level I principal shall perform the duties defined by the local board of education, as provided in § 49-2-303(b), or other duties of principals defined elsewhere in this title.
(c) A career level I principal employed as such by an LEA shall receive a one thousand dollar ($1,000) salary supplement from the state in addition to all other compensation to which the principal may be entitled subject to § 49-5-5308(e).
(d) A career level I principal who is not recertified as a career level I principal shall retain any other currently valid certificate held by such person at that time, including a career level I, II or III teacher certificate issued under parts 50, 52, this part and parts 54 and 55 of this chapter.
