4-3-726. Local planning assistance section.

As a part of the department, there is hereby created a local planning assistance section whose purpose is to make studies or reports upon any planning matter or problem of any county, municipality or other subdivision of the state, upon request of the county legislative body of any county or the board of aldermen, council or commissioners or other chief legislative body of any municipality, or other political subdivision. This may include planning for all matters relating to all state and federal programs as may affect local governments or subdivisions. The local planning assistance section is hereby authorized to make such agreements or contracts with such legislative bodies or boards as to the amount, if any, to be paid to the local planning assistance section for any such planning activity.
