4-3-702 - Commissioner.

4-3-702. Commissioner.

(a)  The department of economic and community development shall be under the charge and general supervision of the commissioner of economic and community development.

(b)  The commissioner shall be appointed by the governor from among nominations received by the governor from the Tennessee board for economic growth.

(c)  The commissioner has the authority to promulgate rules and regulations necessary for the operation of the department or to effectuate any of the programs or responsibilities of any of the divisions of the department. Such rules and regulations shall be promulgated in accordance with the provisions of the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in chapter 5 of this title.
