36-26-15. Qualifications for social worker's license. The board shall issue a license as a "social worker" to an applicant who:

(1) Has a baccalaureate degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the council on social work education or a baccalaureate degree in another field, two years' experience in a social work capacity, and completion of courses equivalent to a social work or social welfare program approved by the board;

(2) Has passed an examination prepared by the board for this purpose.
