Section 31-14-3 - Survey of bridge sites--Contents.
31-14-3. Survey of bridge sites--Contents. After determining the necessity for any and all bridges required by any county in the state, it shall be the duty of the board of county commissioners of such county to advise the county highway superintendent of such determination, and to require him or a registered engineer retained by the board of county commissioners for that purpose to make a survey of such bridge sites. Such survey shall consist of a profile of the proposed site, approximate location in regard to the nearest section corner, soundings for the location of footings, and an estimate of the available watershed.Source: SL 1919, ch 333, § 31; SL 1921, ch 386; SDC 1939, § 28.1404; SL 1961, ch 142, § 1.
