§ 42-40-3.1 Attorney general – Interchange of employees with federal government. – Notwithstanding the provisions of § 42-40-3, the attorney general of the state of Rhode Island is authorized to participate in a program of interchange of employees with departments, agencies, and/or instrumentalities of the federal government. The period of individual assignment or interchange may be for more than one year. Details relating to the interchange may be subject to a written agreement between the sending and receiving agencies and will be subject to the employee's voluntary consent. The attorney general will submit to the director of administration a report of all employee interchanges authorized by this law. The report will also be transmitted to the general assembly in January of each year.
