§ 46-10-1 Appointment of town commissioners of wrecks and shipwrecked goods – Bond. – The town council of every town, the territorial limits of which extend to the seashore, except the town of New Shoreham, shall annually appoint a commissioner of wrecks and shipwrecked goods, with power to appoint one or more deputies. Every commissioner of wrecks and shipwrecked goods shall give bond with sufficient surety or sureties to the town treasurer of the town wherein the commissioner shall be appointed, in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) for the faithful performance of the duties of the commissioner's office.
