§ 45-9-2 - Town approval for establishment.

SECTION 45-9-2

   § 45-9-2  Town approval for establishment. – No budget commission shall be created for a town, as distinguished from a city, unless the electors of the town, in a regularly called financial town meeting, notice of the proposition appearing in the call for the meeting, by a majority vote of those present and voting, vote to submit the proposition to the electors of the town qualified to vote upon any proposition to impose a tax or for the expenditure of money, at the next regular election of town officers, and unless the electors at the election by a majority vote of those present and voting approve the proposition.
