CHAPTER 45-32.1 - Redevelopment Aid for Hospital and Educational Purposes
§ 45-32.1-1 - Purpose.

SECTION 45-32.1-1

   § 45-32.1-1  Purpose. – The purpose of this chapter is to assist any municipality in this state, or any redevelopment agency created or to be created pursuant to § 45-31-9, to obtain credit from the federal government for local grants in aid to urban renewal which is federally assisted under the Federal Urban Renewal Law (title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, mostly omitted by 42 U.S.C. § 5316, which terminated the authority to make most grants or loans after January 1, 1975; see, however, 42 U.S.C. § 1452c) for certain expenditures in connection with land, buildings, or structures (and the relocation of occupants) within, adjacent to, or in the immediate vicinity of, a redevelopment project area which are redeveloped or rehabilitated for educational or hospital use in accordance with a redevelopment plan or a development plan acceptable to the United States of America or department, agency, or instrumentality thereof after considering the standards of title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended.
