Act 83 - SAMUEL NEWMAN WAY - DESIGNATION AND REPEAL

An Act

 

Designating the portion of State Route 2014/Washington Street beginning at the intersection of South Courtland Street and Day Street at segment 0011 offset 1858 and ending at the intersection of Brown Street at segment 0011 offset 0000 in East Stroudsburg Borough, Monroe County, as the Samuel Newman Way; and making a repeal.

 

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.  Samuel Newman Way.

(a)  Designation.--The portion of State Route 2014/Washington Street beginning at the intersection of South Courtland Street and Day Street at segment 0011 offset 1858 and ending at the intersection of Brown Street at segment 0011 offset 0000 in East Stroudsburg Borough, Monroe County, is designated the Samuel Newman Way.

(b)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the highway to traffic in both directions on the highway.

Section 2.  Repeals.

Repeals are as follows:

(1)  The General Assembly declares that the repeal under paragraph (2) is necessary to effectuate section 1 of this act.

(2)  Section 18 of the act of November 27, 2019 (P.L.703, No.102), is repealed.

Section 3.  Effective date.

This act shall take effect immediately.
