Act 47 - PFC JAMES JOSEPH CRISWELL MEMORIAL BRIDGE - DESIGNATION

An Act

 

Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 37590, carrying Pennsylvania Route 425 over Fishing Creek, Chanceford Township, York County, as the PFC James Joseph Criswell Memorial Bridge.

 

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.  PFC James Joseph Criswell Memorial Bridge.

(a)  Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:

(1)  PFC James Joseph Criswell was born on January 16, 1948, in York, Pennsylvania.

(2)  PFC Criswell served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne Division, 2nd Battalion, 105th Infantry, B Company.

(3)  PFC Criswell was killed in action on August 28, 1968.

(4)  PFC Criswell was awarded the Purple Heart for his service and sacrifice to his country.

(b)  Designation.--The bridge, identified as Bridge Key 37590, carrying Pennsylvania Route 425 over Fishing Creek, Chanceford Township, York County, is designated the PFC James Joseph Criswell Memorial Bridge.

(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to traffic in both directions on the bridge.

Section 2.  Effective date.

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
