Act 16 - TECH. CORPORAL LEE R. PHILLIPS MEMORIAL BRIDGE - DESIGNATION

An Act

 

Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 43976, on that portion of State Route 1010 over Chatham Run, Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, as the Tech. Corporal Lee R. Phillips Memorial Bridge.

 

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.  Tech. Corporal Lee R. Phillips Memorial Bridge.

(a)  Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:

(1)  Lee R. Phillips, a resident of Clinton County, was born April 3, 1926.

(2)  In 1944, Tech. Corporal Phillips enlisted in the United States Army.

(3)  Tech. Corporal Phillips served as a tank driver in the Tank Corps and with A Company, 787th Tank Battalion.

(4)  Tech. Corporal Phillips honorably served his country in World War II and received the Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal and AME Medal with one Bronze Service Star.

(5)  Tech. Corporal Phillips died April 7, 2020.

(b)  Designation.--The bridge, identified as Bridge Key 43976, on that portion of State Route 1010 over Chatham Run, Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, is designated as the Tech. Corporal Lee R. Phillips Memorial Bridge.

(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to traffic in both directions on the bridge.

Section 2.  Effective date.

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
