§ 6004. Authority created; existing authority continued. A body corporate and politic named the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority is created and continued as a public authority and instrumentality of the Commonwealth which shall have continuing succession until its existence shall be terminated by law. The exercise by the authority of the powers conferred by this chapter or under the former provisions of the act of June 27, 1986 (P.L.267, No.70), known as the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority Act, formerly codified at 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 59 (relating to the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority), is declared to be and shall for all purposes be deemed and held to be the performance of an essential public function.
