Section 9334 - Assistance of Pennsylvania State Police
§ 9334. Assistance of Pennsylvania State Police. (a) Carrying out functions.--An independent counsel may request assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police in carrying out the functions of the independent counsel, and the Pennsylvania State Police shall provide that assistance, which may include the use of the resources and personnel necessary to perform the independent counsel's duties. (b) Payment of and reports on expenditures of independent counsel.--Upon the request of the Governor, the General Assembly shall appropriate the necessary funds to the State Treasurer for the use and operation in executing the duties and responsibilities of the position of independent counsel. Upon the request of the Governor, the General Assembly shall appropriate the necessary funds to the Pennsylvania State Police for costs incurred when rendering assistance to the independent counsel as provided for under subsection (a). The State Treasurer shall submit to the General Assembly, no later than 30 days after the end of each fiscal year, a report on amounts paid during that fiscal year for expenses of investigations and prosecutions by independent counsel. Each report shall include a statement of all payments made for activities of independent counsel. |
