Chapter 97 - Transition Provisions
Section 9702 - Savings clause

     § 9702.  Savings clause.
        (a)  Pre-effective-date transactions or liens.--Except as
     otherwise provided in this chapter, Revised Division 9 applies
     to a transaction or lien within its scope even if the
     transaction or lien was entered into or created before the
     effective date of Revised Division 9.
        (b)  Continuing validity.--Except as otherwise provided in
     subsection (c) and sections 9703 (relating to security interest
     perfected before effective date) through 9709 (relating to
     priority) of Revised Division 9:
            (1)  transactions and liens which were not governed by
        Former Division 9, were validly entered into or created
        before the effective date of Revised Division 9 and would be
        subject to Revised Division 9 if they had been entered into
        or created after the effective date of Revised Division 9 and
        the rights, duties and interests flowing from those
        transactions and liens remain valid after the effective date
        of Revised Division 9; and
            (2)  transactions and liens may be terminated, completed,
        consummated and enforced as required or permitted by Revised
        Division 9 or by the law which otherwise would apply if
        Revised Division 9 had not taken effect.
        (c)  Pre-effective-date proceedings.--Revised Division 9 does
     not affect an action, case or proceeding commenced before the
     effective date of Revised Division 9.
