2502 - Regulation and classification of contract carrier and broker.

     § 2502.  Regulation and classification of contract carrier and
                broker.
        (a)  Regulation.--The commission shall regulate:
            (1)  Contract carriers by motor vehicle, and to that end
        the commission may prescribe minimum rates which are just and
        reasonable, and establish requirements with respect to
        uniform systems of accounts, records, reports, preservation
        of records, safety of service and equipment and insurance.
            (2)  Brokers, and to that end the commission may
        prescribe requirements with respect to licensing, financial
        responsibility, accounts, reports, records, services and
        practices of any such brokers.
        (b)  Classification.--The commission may from time to time
     establish such classifications of contract carriers by motor
     vehicle, or brokers, as the special nature of the service of
     such carriers or brokers shall require and as deemed necessary
     or desirable in the public interest.
