(1) A person commits the offense of failure to return a suspended, revoked or canceled license if the person has driving privileges suspended, revoked or canceled and the person fails to immediately return to the Department of Transportation any license or driver permit issued by the department.
(2) If any person fails to return a license or driver permit on suspension, revocation or cancellation of the person’s driving privileges, the department may request any peace officer to secure possession thereof and return it to the department.
(3) The offense described in this section, failure to return a suspended, revoked or canceled license, is a Class C misdemeanor. [1983 c.338 §363; 1985 c.16 §178; 1985 c.393 §11; 2025 c.415 §4]
